This was such a good reminder.
I always feel safe because I, myself, am a good driver.
But sometimes it's good to remember what everyone else on the road may be doing... texting, drinking, whatnot. I am reminded of Bemy repeating herself endlessly:
Drive defensively.

thought for the day

Our children are citizens of the future who must be taught not to lie and cheat but to be honest people like the sturdy and decent forefathers who forged our great country. Dishonest living is a blow at the United States itself, for a free land can survive only through men and women of integrity. Tell them that the Child of Bethlehem came to make people good.

Read this.
It made me laugh.
I don't know what made me smile bigger.
Was it because they were too fat to fly away? (definitely funny.)
Or was it "if you're interested in helping and adopting a duck, call the city"? (maybe even funnier?)
BEWARE whoever I drew for Christmas. You're getting a fat, orphan duck.

Remember when Mom was taking the whole couch and its occupants on a train ride? That was really, really funny. I appreciate so much how all of you guys like to have fun.

Two Years Ago? Really?

I talked to Lu tonight (hi Lu!) and she reminded me that two years ago today, we were at the lake house. Though those were crappy circumstances, it still felt so good to be with you all there. It was healing. Here are some photos! I feel like stating the obvious: I miss Alex.

Did you guys see this on Saturday? I was laughing so hard. I had to rewind the DVR and watch it again. It's worth sitting through the commercial, I promise. I really feel that excited sometimes. That's what made it double funny.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE BEST XMAS PRESENT EVER!

We were living in the pink house in Running Springs. Bampa made a cradle for Cara. We put her in that under the tree.
She was so easy going and peaceful, a total Xmas miracle. I'm sure Andrea and Alex were already wondering how they could sabotage their new competition. We had a lot of snow that Xmas. Cara was our first born at Loma Linda. My last C section.

Love you! MOM

Hi! I miss you guys!

It was so great to see Andrea, Cara and Ian in Lake Arrowhead. We had a wonderful day together. I want all of you to know that I think of you (the Jacobsen family) often... actually, every day. I miss St. George and spending time with everyone. I miss Bemy's dry sense of humor. I miss Andrea's peaceful spirituality... Andrea brings peace regardless of the surroundings. I miss Cara's firm and accurate grasp on reality. I miss Janna's artistic individuality and how she always fights for the underdog. I miss Alana's old wisdom (old meaning old soul) and her advice and sympathy. I am blessed to know each and everyone of you! much love xoxo, Lu

Sneak Peek

Check it out. It's Mom's new house, #9. I love living commune style. These photos are to entice all to head up for Thanksgizzle. There will be red bull and cheetos at my house, pies at Mom's and homemade hummus on melba toast at Janna's! There will be chips and onion dip, lunching and movie-going galore!

^And one of you lucky suckers will be staying in Mom's new guest room. There's also her second guest room, my guest room, Janna's guest room and two comfy couches to choose from.

^What's this I see? Mom decorated with a picture? Boy, she sure must plan on staying here awhile. She has some mortgage appointments and already put an offer on the place. Keep your fingers crossed. Go Bemy!

See out that window... it's looking right into Janna's window!

I think this is extra funny because of the english accent on that kid.

word to your mother

Ian and Jake, do you guys remember the good old Camp Utah days when I would blast this in my little white Saturn? I know Ian does. Jake, was this after you graduated from Camp Utah? Anyways, it was fun. I think we should do that again sometime soon.

Fantasy Dream Lunch

Large dose of aspartame, pigs in a blanket (Hebrew National yo!- that makes them healthy!), pie crust cookies. Disgusting, I know. I deserve to be arrested for such lunching. (Or do I deserve some sort of award?) Then this little piggy is going to wrap herself up in a blanket and take a nap. I'm happy. Even while my flesh moulders in corruption. Best. PMS lunch. Ever.
